Welcome to the Lizzardzone!

Welcome to the Lizzard Zone, the web home for the latest on me and my family. I'm Lizzard, a technology loving Deafie. I'm married to Fox, the cutest ASL teacher in the world. We have a 20 year old son (Jake), a 19 year old daughter (Marisol), and a 14 year old son (Cody). We have 3 cats, a mama and her two daughters, as well as a young black lab mix who keep us quite entertained with their antics.

Comics about Me

Back in the days when we actually got a physical newspaper everyday, I noticed my love of football and winter were commonly mocked in the comics. Oh well.

This is my kind of medicine!

The end of football season IS doomsday!! And it happens every year! It's tragic!!

HA!! I may have accidentally done this a few times to my parents during my youth...

I suspect my grandchildren will somday think something similar - unless they've already gotten the football bug...

The kid's response here is totally something I would say. When filling out a 'get to know you' type form for an adoption application, one of the questions was "when you buy something for yourself, it is most likely to be...?" My answer? "Something electronic."

This is soooo me. The pool is a huge consideration in any hotel stay and I usually go there every day during the stay.

Yeah! This is exactly the kind of thing that I would love to have the doctor say. Unfortunately, though, my weight and blood pressure are both just fine. Darn.

I do! I do!!

I am quite vocal with my opinions/commentary/criticism during football games.

This would be the perfect gift for Fox from September through January.

If I were to garden...

SWEET!

I pulled this often after I got my driver's license. Mom started to accept it as part of the deal as long as the change wasn't excessive.

Sigh.

Fox laughed hysterically when he first read this. I LOVE Christmas and decorating the tree, but like the lad in the comic above, I'm shorter than the tree is.

This was in the BYU newspaper prior to the annual BYU-University of Utah football game in 2001. What a game and season that was!! As far as I'm concerned, the Cougars can beat the Utes any day, anytime, anywhere.

Too cute.

NOT!!!!! Being from Alaska, I have a slightly different perspective on 'snow days' than most of the people here in Portland. Here, it seems school is cancelled for a small dusting of snow but when I was a kid, it took a heck of a lot more than that to close the schools.

Football or going to the mall... football wins. Easily. Every time.

Too true! As soon as I read this, I cracked up laughing and said "this is me, this is me."

I see nothing wrong with BBQing in the winter. I've been known to shovel a path in the snow on the deck to get to the grill.

Oh, how I wish to have this! I've been known to have some rather loud music playing while in the car.

I am sometimes playfully referred to as "Lightning Hands"...

Oh yeah!

The hilarious thing on this one is that this was the EXACT reason that I made a Thanksgiving feast the year this comic was published.

Certainly the time between the end of the football season and the start of the baseball season is a sad time...no decent sports to watch on tv! Golf just doesn't cut it.

OK, I've has been known to make a burnt offering or two in her time. No true grill-master hasn't because it's part of the learning process!
