(22 December 2009)

We win!!!!!!! The BYU Cougars did an excellent job trouncing the Oregon State Beavers, at one point leading 37-7. Final score was 44-20 as the Beavers got two touchdowns late in the game. We hosted a party here tonight to watch the game and were pleased to be surrounded by friends and tons of food!

This was in the newspaper this morning. Yeah, Cougs!

BYU recovers fumble

This was particularly sweet. The Oregon State player (who hadn't had a fumble in 621 touches of the ball) dropped this lateral pass. Before he could pick it up, this BYU player knocked him over, leaving the ball free to be picked up by another BYU player -- and taken into the endzone for a BYU touchdown.

It's Christmas time. The lights are bright on the trees, the stockings are hung by the mantle and classic Christmas movies are on TV most nights. This is a great time of year. I love to sit in the living room and just bask in the glow of the lights on our tree. A friend of ours recently published her first book, so I've been reading it to the husband (he doesn't like to read but wants to hear the story) with Mikey and Cosmo snoozing nearby. It makes for a very pleasant evening.

Cosmo napping under Christmas tree

I visited Stamps' classroom recently so his first years could meet a real live deaf person and his second years could practice conversing in ASL. One student asked why my web page is 75% football related. I replied it was because I absolutely love football - and I do! The Bowl Season starts today, with Fresno State and Wyoming battling it out in New Mexico. As I type, they are fighting it out in double overtime. Since Wyoming is in the Mountain West Conference, I hope they pull off the win so the MWC looks good.

I love that BYU is playing against Oregon State in the Las Vegas bowl next week. Because Oregon State is a local team, there is a lot of media coverage here. Granted, it's for the Beavers, but hey, they can't talk about the Bowl Game without talking about BYU. We'll be hosting a party with LOTS of football fans to watch that game. Go COUGS!

(Note: Wyoming won :-) )

(6 December 2009)

The Cougars are making their 5th straight appearance in the Las Vegas Bowl on Dec 22nd. They will be playing against Oregon State, which means that the media coverage here in Oregon should be pretty good. I like the Beavers, but I'll be rooting for the Cougars. No question there.

Pics from the BYU vs Utah game have been posted for your viewing pleasure. What a game!

(29 November 2009)

YEAH!!!!! The Cougars and Utes put on a thrilling show yesterday. I wouldn't have minded if Utah hadn't gotten the scores that forced overtime. But, they did and overtime happened, with BYU winning. I was in the stadium in Provo and cheered myself hoarse during the game. Such fun! Pictures will be posted soon.

It was lots of fun to gather with friends yesterday to watch the BYU Cougars take on the Air Force Falcons. It was a pretty fun game to watch, with good plays and amazing catches made by both teams. BYU won with a score of 38-21.

BYU vs Air Force

The win sets up the showdown with Utah this next Saturday. The winner will likely go to the Las Vegas Bowl and the loser will likely go to the Poinsetta Bowl. With the new rankings, BYU is favored to win. Go COUGS!!!

Week 12 poll results

(15 November 2009)

Here are the latest polls. Looks like it could be a good showdown between the Cougars and Utes after Thanksgiving. Each have another game to get through first.

Week 11 poll results

(14 November 2009)

BYU played New Mexico today. I thought it was going to be a stomping win, but it ended up being a hard fought battle. A very hard fought battle. The Cougars were victorious by a margin of 24-19 - much closer than it probably should have been. I'm glad the Cougars got the win but if they play like that against Air Force and/or Utah, I'm not sure they could squeak out the win.

BYU vs UNM

At the time of this posting, TCU and Utah are battling it out. TCU is up 38-14. Here's hoping they keep up the trouncing of the Utes! By so doing, it would pretty much take BYU and Utah both out of the running for the conference championship, but it keeps TCU as the BCS-buster and strengthens the Conference's argument that the MWC should have an automatic BCS bowl bid.

(8 November 2009)

We had our Primary program today. It was very nice and fun. The kids did a great job.

The Cougars have moved up slightly in the rankings. TCU, a member of our conference, has jumped up to #4 in the rankings - which is good news for the Conference overall. When they meet Utah, I hope the Horned Frogs stomp the Utes!

Week 10 poll results

(7 November 2009)

Yesterday, our month of working very hard with the high school kids as they prepared for Children of a Lesser God came to an official end. Technically, they still have two more perfomances, but last night is the one that the "language coaches" attended and our chance to go backstage with them and give our congratulations. They expressed their thanks to us for our efforts in teaching them. They gave a wonderful performance and held the crowd spell-bound. I'm thankful to have been part of it.

Cast and Language coaches

Today, the BYU Cougars stomped the Wyoming Cowboys with a solid 52-0 win. YAY!

(1 November 2009)

We had 96 trick-or-treaters yesterday, a new record for us! Wahoo!!

Here are the latest polls. The Cougars are back in the top 25, which is interesting given they didn't play this week. :-)

Happy Halloween! We had a rather busy day so far, but now it's time to relax. We carved our pumpkins. Mikey was less than impressed with them. He never has been interested in pumpkin carving.

Fox carving his pumpkin

It being Cosmo's first Halloween, we weren't sure what his reaction to the pumpkin carving would be. We thought he would touch it with his paw, realize it was sticky and decide it was boring. But, that's not what happened. Instead, he was quite intrigued by the whole thing. He started licking the pumpkin seeds and even tried to eat a few chunks of pumpkin, though he didn't really eat it -- just sort of licked it more than bit it. It seems that he likes the taste of pumpkin since, after that first taste, he stayed very close.

Cosmo with pumpkin

For fun, here are our carved jack-o-lanterns. This first one was my husband's idea.

Pumpkin snowman

This one was mine.

And no, I didn't forget about the BYU game. They have a bye today. ;-)

(25 October 2009)

The Cougars have fallen out of the top 25, for the first time since sometime last year I think. Maybe the year before. I don't remember. But, they aren't there now. The Cougars' loss did help propel TCU up in the BCS rankings - surpassing Boise State! This puts TCU in the lead for the at-large BCS bowl berth - but there is still lots of football to play this season. I will now be supporting TCU in their remaining games (since they already defeated my team) so they can bust into the BCS for the Mountain West conference. Potentially, this could be the second straight year that the MWC has busted the BCS, which strengthens their argument about becoming a conference with automatic BCS bowl eligibility.

Week 8 poll results

We've been keeping very busy helping a local high school with their production of Children of a Lesser God. It's been quite exciting watching the actors, who knew no sign language at all, learn the whole play in ASL. That's what our job has been - to do the teaching. The fliers came out this week. The scanner didn't do such a good job in scanning this, but you can get the idea.

While watching other games on tv this morning, I was surprised at how much the commentators were talking about the BYU-TCU game and the implications it has for the BCS. Too bad the Cougars couldn't capitalize on all the attention. The game belonged solely to TCU. With a score of 38-7, they erased any hope of BYU moving up in the rankings this season. I find myself hoping that TCU will remain undefeated and be the Mountain West's hope for a BCS bust... though that rather depends on Boise State falling in the rankings. They don't play anyone hard for the rest of the season so who knows.

BYU vs TCU

(18 Octover 2009)

The first BCS poll came out today - the one that affects bowl games. The Cougars are about where I'd expect them to be. I'm surprised that Boise State is ranked so highly in the BCS poll given that their strength of schedule isn't the best. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how things play out.

Week 7 poll results

In other news, my husband became the branch president today. That should be interesting.

(17 October 2009)

Wow! What a day! There are some days which are just so fantastic that they hardly seem real, and this was one of them for me. It started off with my husband and I heading to the Deaf Expo - an event that happens in Portland every two years or so. We've heard of it before but for some reason never managed to make it there before. It was quite awesome! A few thousand people, most of whom are deaf or hard of hearing, all in one place. Various booths were set up with things like ASL themed shirts, learning materials and misc other things as well as live entertainment and food. One company showed off their mobile videophone (on sale for a measly $99!) which was pretty darn cool.

Some friends of ours have teamed up with us to be "language coaches" for a local high school that is putting on a production of Children of a Lesser God - a play with lots of sign language. The actors didn't know any ASL before getting their parts so we've had our work cut out for us, but they've been shown incredible abilities to remember the signing for their lines after going over them but a few times. We arranged for them to meet us at the Expo with their teacher for some people watching - to help them pick up the little mannerisms that will add realism to their performances in a few weeks. It was fun to watch them as they watched what was going on around them. They were noticing things like how, during one of the 'game show' type entertainment things, the teams would sign under the table to prevent the other team from eavesdropping. Stuff like that which maybe they hadn't quite thought of before.

After leaving the Expo, I got to go with some friends (some deaf, some not) and watch the BYU football game on TV. The boys in blue took on the San Diego State Aztecs. In some ways, their playing has improved. This was the second game in a row without the BYU quarterback throwing an interception. Defense wasn't so good in preventing San Diego State from making some big plays, but they did come up with a few of their own - most noteably an interception in the end zone. The offense did a pretty good job of moving the ball. Two of their plays really made me smile - one was a touchdown pass where the receiver barely kept his toes touching the turf while leaning out to catch the ball. The other was at the very end of the first half. BYU was on the goal line and had failed in their attempt to get a touchdown. The clock was winding down so everyone seemed to think that they were going to spike the ball to stop the clock. So, BYU caught San Diego State a bit unaware when, instead of spiking the ball, the BYU quarterback ran the ball in for a touchdown.

BYU vs SDSU

After doing the obligatory shopping trip, I came back to make some dinner. I got to watch a bit of the Yankees-Angels game, which eventually ended in the bottom of the 13th inning with the Yankees scoring on an error by the Angels.

Yep - a good day.

(11 October 2009)

The Cougars played a solid game against UNLV yesterday. I don't recall our quarterback throwing any interceptions, which is somewhat of a rarity. Instead, the Cougars came up on the other side of the turnover equation - taking the ball from UNLV several times.

BYU vs UNLV

The polls for this week don't have much change for the Cougars. Utah broke back into the Top 25 in one poll.

Week 6 poll results

It being October, the baseball playoffs are happening. Of the division series matchups, I'm surprised that three of them were sweeps (Angels over Red Sox, Yankees over Twins, and Dodgers over Cardinals). My husband is from Colorado, so we're rooting for the Rockies to beat the Phillies (currently the series is tied at 1-1).

And, because I can, here's a comic from the newspaper today. Who could this be describing?

Comic strip

(4 October 2009)

The Cougars went up a few slots in the rankings, more because of the performance of teams above them than because of a stellar performance of their own. It was a commanding win, yes, but still too many mistakes if they hope to get back into the top 10.
Week 5 poll results

This weekend was also the worldwide General Conference for my church - when we get to stay home and watch on tv as our church leaders speak to us from Salt Lake City. This was one of the best Conferences that I remember. There were so many good talks. Not only that, since Conference talks are in general very good -- but they seemed very applicable or powerful to me. A very uplifting Conference.

(3 October 2009)

Last night, I gathered with some friends to watch the Cougars take on the Utah State Aggies. A few struggles on offense in the form of fumbles, interceptions and a few near misses added some tension, but the Cougars were able to come out with a 35-17 win. I was very impressed with some of the catches that our receivers can make. Absolutely amazing.

(27 September 2009)

Here are the polls for this week. Oddly, BYU went down a spot even though they solidly beat a previously undefeated team. Weird.

Week 4 poll results

(26 September 2009)

We're at the point in the season where the games are starting to be shown on The MTN, a channel that I don't get. Neither do most of my football-watching friends. (sigh) So, I didn't get to watch the game on tv today, but I tracked it on ESPN.com. BYU went up early and fast, posting a score of 21-0 at the end of the first quarter. Defense sort of backed off a little after that and CSU intercepted some passes, but the Cougars put on a decent showing on the scoreboard with a final of 42-23.

BYU vs CSU

(20 September 2009)

Yep, the Cougars did indeed free fall in the polls after the crushing loss yesterday. Interesting to note that we're still in the top 25. In fact, we're basically where we started the season.

Week 3 poll results

(19 September 2009)

It's another wild day in college football today. Washington, who didn't have a win to their record last year, took down #3 USC in what was an exciting defensive showdown. Oregon snapped Utah's streak of consecutive wins. And BYU's defense apparently thought the game was anywhere but at Lavell Edwards Stadium since they completely failed to show up. I think we can expect the top 10 in the AP poll to look much different when it comes out tomorrow than it did last week.

The Cougars turned the ball over to the Seminoles 5 times. F-I-V-E times! I realize they are nice guys and trying not to be selfish, but when it comes to football, it's perfectly fine to NOT share the ball more than is absolutely necessary!!! Prepare to tumble in the polls.

(13 September 2009)

BYU moved up a few spots in the polls - not so much because of their dominating performance against the Green Wave, but because of Ohio State and Oklahoma State's losses yesterday.

Week 2 poll results

(12 September 2009)

After a sluggish start, the Cougars found their groove and absolutely stomped Tulane today, 54-3. I watched it here at home, with Mikey and Cosmo nearby. It stunned me that Cosmo, who will run upstairs if he hears the faucet turn on in the bathroom sink, was able to sleep through my yelling and cheering. Didn't bat at eyelash. He was named after the BYU mascot but he hasn't shown the interest in football that the BYU mascot does. Maybe with time...

Hold on tight cuz football season is underway and if the first week is any indication, it's gonna be a wild and fun ride! I watched (and yelled myself hoarse) as the #20 Cougars took down #3 Oklahoma. Talk about a nail biter!! When the Sooners attempted field goal went wide and short, I felt much like I did last year at the BYU game against Washington... a huge feeling of relief that the win was ours! It was a great game to watch - and the best part was watching it with some of my friends.

BYU vs Oklahoma

I'm thrilled that the Oregon Ducks took action against the player that decided to throw a punch to one of the Boise State players after Thursday night's game. There really is no excuse for that. Had they not taken swift and decisive action, I think it would have put a HUGE damper on the effort the system is making this year to promote good sportsmanship.

(1 September 2009)

The annual airshow brought the Air Force Thunderbirds to the area - zooming over my house in fact. My dog didn't like it - he took refuge in the bathroom. The cat, however, barely mustered a yawn when they came thundering by. I guess this is a difference between dogs and cats. Anyway, I managed to get a few good pics.

(25 August 2009)

Cosmo and Mikey continue to get along rather well. Though he's only been with us for three mornings, Cosmo has figured out that there's no need to get up early in the morning. When I've gotten up for work these past few days, all three of my boys continue to snooze on their respective beds. I'm discovering that he has two settings: "wildly active" or "sleeping like a zombie." There doesn't seem to be a state in between. Strange. A few more pictures of him are posted.

Football season is coming!!! With it come the pre-season polls. In the AP poll, the Cougars are #20 while the USA Today poll puts them at #24. Three teams from the Mountain West Conference are in the Top 25 of both polls - highlighted in various colors below.

It's been a very entertaining few days as Mikey and Cosmo have started to get used to each other. Cosmo has no reservations about Mikey whatsoever... often coming right up and trying to curl up next to him. Mikey isn't quite sure what to think of this and usually will retreat. He hasn't made any attempt whatsoever to snap at or chase Cosmo... just doesn't want him too close yet. I think these two will become good friends after they really get used to each other.

A friend from BYU put this on her facebook page today. It's funny enough I have to post it here.

Our family expanded today, with the addition of Cosmo. We got him from a local shelter, where he's been for more than a month. We expect he'll be good for us in giving us something else to love. He already seems to like his new home. Mikey isn't quite sure what to think yet.

Life continues. Mom came down to visit a few weeks ago and made lots of cookies and brownies. Aren't moms great?

Funny story from church this last week. We were without a music leader in Primary so I was taking over music time for the day. I took a few moments at the beginning of Primary to explain to the kids how the former music leader was released and that we'd get a new one. One 5-year-old, trying to be helpful, raised his hand and said "We don't need to have music time." I responded "Oh, really? You mean we don't have to play the really fun game that I planned for music time today?" After thinking a bit, the response from the boy came. "Let's have music time!"

And now... my hubby was in the funny papers a few days ago.

We went to the deaf branch BBQ today which was a lot of fun. The Primary kids had an especially fun time chasing me down with water balloons... and then the hose! To say I got drenched would be an understatement. But, it's a really warm day so it helped to keep me cool and happy. And besides, I like water. ;-) When we got home, Mikey wasted no time in telling us that he wanted to go bask in the hot sun, as shown below. I will NEVER know how a dog with a black fur coat can love the sun so much, but he does.

Eight weeks ago, I was in the hospital, a day away from the birth of my sons. Needless to say, it's been an emotional rollercoaster since then, with both ups and downs. In the last few weeks, various quotes have been coming to mind as I try to really grasp the reality of what we've been through. Still feeling the need to DO something rather than just sit and think, I decided to make this picture. Most of the quotes are from songs but not all of them. The background picture is one I took of the Twin Falls temple when we drove through the area last year. Click on the picture to see it full size (easier to read).

At times, I still feel horribly depressed about the loss of the twins. When I went grocery shopping the other day, though, I was in a pretty good mood so I decided that I would make the effort to cook up a BBQ on Independence Day. I figured it would give me something to do and result in a delicious dinner. It worked.

Whoo!! I'm actually motivated to create and upload movies from the recent East Coast trip. On the movie page, there are now 3 movies from our time in DC and one from New York state. Enjoy!

(23 June 2009)

A month. It's been a month since I first laid eyes on my sons. Sometimes it feels like it has been much longer. I've had this idea for a picture rolling around in my head for a week or so, but only today got around to actually making it.

(13 June 2009)

We have returned from a long "get-away trip" to the East Coast. We flew into Jacksonville (Florida) and did a road trip north, before departing for home from Boston. Pictures are posted. Video will hopefully added in the next few days.

It has certainly been a busy three weeks. Here are a few of the things that I did.

  • Gave birth to beautiful twin boys
  • Buried my sons since they arrived too early to survive
  • Saw & touched the Atlantic for the first time
  • Drove a few thousand miles, including through torrential downpours that limited visibility to the fraction of a second after the windshield wipers had passed.
  • Saw many of the historical sites in Washington, D.C. including:
    • Washington Monument
    • WWII & Vietnam Memorials
    • Lincoln Memorial
    • Many of the museums of the Smithsonian which included the Apollo 11 command module & the flag thatinspired The Star-spangled Banner
    • White House
    • Capitol Building
    • Ford's Theater
    • Arlington National Cemetery
  • Witnessed a lady take a terrible fall backwards and helped keep her still and comfortable until the paramedics arrived.
  • Got out of a ticket [made a wrong turn, cop was about to write a ticket but let us go when he realized I'm deaf. I'm not sure why but I'm not complaining!]
  • Visited Gallaudet University
  • Went through something like 16 states, including 7 in one day.
  • Drove through New York City (on the freeways) and lived to tell the tale!
  • Visited the Sacred Grove, Smith farm and Hill Cumorah in New York
  • Caught a captioned movie ("Up") in Rochester
  • Was amazed at the grandeur of Niagara Falls
  • Spent an unplanned night in Chicago when a delay caused us to miss our connecting flight
  • Saw license plates from 44 of the 50 states

Curious Observation: Why is it when on a freeway someone has miraculously caught up to and is passing me at the exacttime that I catch up to the car in front of me and would like to pass them?

Short update: Due to a complication that we neither caused nor could prevent, the twins came early but did not survive (not surprising, they were at 16 weeks). Thomas Parker Stamps and Kai Joseph Stamps were born on May 23rd.

We'd like to express our appreciation to all those who have offered kind words and love and support during the last few days as we've gone through this experience.

For those who submitted guesses, the correct answer is "two boys."

(15 May 2009)

Another week has gone by!! I've been rather exhausted the last few days - which causes my husband to exclaim "you need to rest!!" Such a kind a caring husband. What a wonderful father he will make in ~20 more weeks. ;-)

Though we are spending lots of time thinking about the twins, we are making sure not to neglect our dog, Mikey. I think he suspects that something is up but I doubt he understands yet just what is happening. In any event, he seems perfectly content with me working from home and keeping him company rather often. I saw this comic in the paper today and it describes him perfectly.

After the rough first trimester, the doctor's visits are currently on a two-week cadence rather than a monthly basis. The end result? MORE ULTRASOUND PICTURES!!!

Ultrasound image

Both twins were very active at the time of the ultrasound, which made it sort of hard to get clear pictures. This is Twin A. It didn't look like it was sucking it's thumb - just had a hand up next to the face. A leg (complete with knee and foot) is sort of visible if you look closely. Every so often, it would do what looked like a hiccup and float upward in its little sac. Pretty funny to watch.

Ultrasound image

Here, we can see Twin B. One thing we could see very well on the screen but not on the printed picture is the twins' relative position to each other. They were both laying the same direction, one directly above the other -- like they are on a set of bunk beds. As such, you can sort of see where Twin A is located, below Twin B. Not very clear, but you can sort of tell.

(5 May 2009)

Who knew that going in to the office for three hours would be so draining?! Yesterday, I was feeling pretty good when I woke up so I drove in to work so I could see everyone. I knew I wouldn't have the energy to stay all day, but thought I'd go for a few hours at least. It was great to be back, though I left at lunchtime because I was starting to get tired. I spent the rest of the day massaging my sore leg muscles. Guess I haven't done that much walking in a while...

(2 May 2009)

It's amazing what a little time can do. Over this last week, I've started feeling sooooo much better. I'm still quite exhausted physically but I'm eating much better. Almost every day, there is some noticeable improvement, particularly in my energy level. Looks like I may survive this morning sickness thing after all!! Tomorrow is our 6th wedding anniversary. Since we have church and other obligations, we opted to celebrate it today - by going on a lunch date to the Spaghetti Factory. The fact that I ate all my soup, half the loaf of bread, a milkshake, a glass of water and some of my spaghetti is proof that I am feeling better. HOORAY!!!

(28 April 2009)

As part of some genetic screening, another ultrasound was done today. It was quite thorough, with the opportunity to see arms, legs, spines, heads, brains and almost every other part of two little babies. No gender identification though - still a few weeks too early for that. The technician did say that these are most certainly fraternal twins.

Here is a picture of both of the kids.

Ultrasound image

This was one of those moments when all of us in the room (myself, the interpreter and the person doing the ultrasound) all had to go "awwwwww." Twin B was quite well behaved for the ultrasound. It was already in the right position for being measured and didn't move around too much. A little, but not too much. In this picture, it's just sucking it's thumb... and we could see the hand moving as it sucked. It was incredibly cute.

Ultrasound image

Twin A's attitude was described by the technician in one word: stubborn! It took a great deal of prodding and pressure to get this one turned around the right way. A few times, the technician would push down and try to shake things up a little to try to convince this one to move to a better position. I outright laughed when, after one of these attempts, I saw this little arm come up and flick once - as if brushing the technician off!!! "Nah, I'm happy right like this, thank YOU!"

Ultrasound image

(23 April 2009)

We had our second prenatal checkup today. Other than me losing weight rather than gaining it, all is well. An ultrasound showed that one of the twins is already extremely active! Move, move, move!!! The other was a bit more sedate - moving but not with nearly as much restlessness. These are pictures of each of the twins.

We're going to be parents - of twins!!! We do not yet know the genders of our twins, as it is still too early to tell, but it's always fun to guess! So,what do you think they will be? In time, we'll see who guesses correctly!

Ultrasound image

This ultrasound is from March, so they've undoubtedly grown a bit since then, but it's the latest picture of the twins that we have available.

(16 February 2009)

As predicted in the last entry, I managed to get the last star in Super Mario Galaxy, for a total of 120. After fighting Bowser again (funny how it seemed so much easier the second time), I unlocked the ability to play as Luigi rather than as Mario. So, I'm playing through it again... with the plan to get that super hard star earlier in the game this time around.

On a random note, though still related to video games, I finally beat the original Super Mario Brothers game. I'm not sure if I beat it when I was younger or not, but I don't think I did. Fox got me a ton of lives by doing something called "robbing the turtle" on one level- which was necessary since I was dying a LOT on the way to the last castle. Other than that, I did it myself.

On the Wii Fit, I got a perfect score on the beginner soccer heading game!!! I didn't get hit by any shoes or panda heads nor did I miss hitting any of the soccer balls. YAY!

OK, so I have been spending a lot of time playing video games. What can I say? It's been rainy outside! ;-)

(24 January 2009)

It's been a month since Christmas. I've been playing all the new games for my Wii quite often and loving it. In Super Mario Galaxy, I now have 119 stars - one short of getting all of them. But that last one is a doozy! Trying to collect 100 purple coins when they are located on platforms that disappear when Mario steps on them is not exactly an easy task. But, never fear. I will conquer!

(11 January 2009)

The new year has arrived. Just like every year, I now find myself wondering what to do with my Saturdays now that college football has ended for the season. Maybe it's time to start tackling all those projects that have been piling up.

In fun news, BYU's opening game for the 2009 season will be against Oklahoma in the brand new stadium used by the Dallas Cowboys. Talk about a thriller for an opener! I can hardly wait! Expecting a win would be a bit optimistic given that Oklahoma is a very good team (and their quarterback just won the Heisman trophy) and one of the Cougars' star receivers is opting to leave school early to enter the NFL draft but miracles have been known to happen.

In the meantime, this comic was in the paper today and it perfectly describes me. I will pick watching football over going to the mall any day.
